SO MUCH MORE THAN A PHOTO TOUR
Small, cinematic workshops and expeditions built around real access, real people, and coaching that permanently changes how you see light.
STOP REACTING TO LIGHT. START SHAPING IT.
Most workshops teach photographers to chase light. I teach you how to shape it, blending natural and artificial light until your images feel cinematic, intentional, and alive.
REAL PEOPLE. REAL ACCESS.
You’ll walk alongside farmers through Colombian coffee mountains and stand at the edge of the Ganges while a million lamps burn at your feet. Years of trust open these doors. You’re not a tourist with a camera. You’re a guest.
COMPOSITION, DECODED
I break down exactly why the strongest images work, geometry, eye movement, layering, tension, and framing, so you can stop guessing and start building intentionally.
SMALL GROUPS, PERSONAL COACHING
Every workshop and expedition is capped to keep it intimate. I’m standing next to you, coaching your framing, adjusting your light, reviewing your images, so you leave with portfolio-ready work and the skills to repeat it on your own.

MEET BRETT
I’m Brett Garamella, a portrait photographer and filmmaker. I teach photographers to see light the way cinematographers do, and create images that feel intentional, not lucky.
My work has taken me from National Geographic and ESPN to an Academy Award-qualifying short film, with documentary projects spanning Colombia, Dagestan, Cuba, and India. But it’s the personal projects, years spent earning trust in small towns, farming communities, and fight camps, that shaped these expeditions.
That access is what makes these experiences different. You’ll photograph real people in real moments, with hands-on coaching that stays with you long after the trip ends.
